Bonnie Maffei is a screenwriter and artist of Italian descent, with a B.A. in Art from San Jose State University. Her writing draws on art, religion, philosophy and the supernatural, across thriller, sci-fi and comedy. She is a graduate of ScreenwritingU’s Master Screenwriting Certificate Program and Professional Screenwriting ProSeries.

Her screenplay Becoming Picasso has been honoured at the Moondance International Film Festival, the L.A. International Screenplay Awards and the Vancouver International Women in Film Festival. Her other scripts have also won awards at Moondance, including A Recipe to Die For, Galactic and Written in Sand.

She is developing Becoming Picasso, on which she is also executive producer, Lightning Ghost and Funeral Fakers with The Film Co-Operative.
