Set in a present-day Hollywood LAPD precinct, where the series of murders from the original film are being re-examined as cold cases.

A dim-witted rookie detective is aided by a drug-crazed archivist who works, and lives, in the LAPD basement, curating files and evidence, including every drug known. An A.I.-animated cocaine rat has a bit part in helping to solve these bizarre cases.
