Logline:

When a long time faithful wife Viginia learns her husband is cheating, she enlists a band of rogues to carry out his murder so she can collect his life insurance policy. They bungle the attempt and in a bizarre series of events Officer Secret places Virginia under arrest. 

Synopsis:

 Virginia, 51, set aside her own ambitions to put her husband, Frank, through medical school, and to support him in any and every endeavor that made him happy; in return she has led a secure, pampered life while maintaining the illusion of a loving, faithful wife. When she finds out he’s having a secret love affair with a young doctor who is now pregnant with his child, she enlists an inept band of rogues to plot and carry out his murder so that she can collect his life insurance policy benefit. Her gang of villains – two brothers with criminal records and their sister, plus a corrupt locksmith, and Virginia’s boyfriend, security director at the school where she works – is bumbling and thwarted; they kidnap Frank, but he manages to kill two of his abductors and the surviving scoundrels instead ask for a ransom. The local police investigating Frank’s disappearance do not seem up to the challenge and Virginia’s acid tones reflect her arrogance and condescension, but don’t discount the straightforward, plodding efforts of meek and humble-seeming Officer Secret. The crime devolves into a three-ring circus as the locksmith kills the security director, and the surviving kidnapper kills the locksmith. Then the surviving kidnapper attempts to choke out Virginia whom he blames for the death of his brother and sister, when Officer Secret shoots him, saves Virginia and then places her under arrest for kidnapping and murder.
